The integration is the email domain itself. There is no single sign-on to configure, no user directory to sync and no roster to upload. A dean, department head, librarian or IT administrator applies, confirms the domain by signing in with an address on it or by publishing a DNS TXT record, and Kendr reviews and switches the domain on, usually inside a week.
The institution controls three things per domain: the learner policy (instant activation for verified addresses, approval of each learner, or purchase only), a seat limit that bounds how many passes can be active at once, and an optional weekly allowance override. Credits are released weekly and reset weekly, so exposure is the seat limit multiplied by the weekly allowance, and a pass never renews or bills by itself.
Learners get the same Kendr everyone uses: research with citations, supervised agents, Kendr Code, Notetaker, skill packs and the compatible API, on the web, the desktop app, VS Code and mobile, with one balance across all of them. Their conversations, files and usage stay private to their own accounts; the institution sees seat counts, never content, and every renewal re-checks that the address still belongs to an approved domain.
Applications are made on this page. Public mailbox domains and bare academic suffixes are refused, the contact address must be on the institution's domain because it receives the verification link, and nothing is switched on until the domain is verified and reviewed.

How onboarding works
Applications are reviewed by Kendr, usually inside a week. Verification is whatever the contact can do fastest.
- Apply: a dean, department head, librarian or IT administrator submits the application with the institution's primary email domain and a contact address on that domain.
- Confirm the domain: Kendr emails the contact a link, and signing in with that address is the whole check. Alternatively, IT publishes a DNS TXT record that Kendr issues for the domain.
- Kendr reviews and switches the domain on: the institution chooses the learner policy, the seat limit and any allowance override, and the contact receives a sign-up link to share.
- Students and staff activate: they create a Kendr account with their institution email, exactly like any other user, and request or activate the School plan from inside Kendr.

Every renewal re-checks that the address still belongs to an approved domain. Pausing the institution stops new requests and renewals while running passes finish, and individual learners can be revoked.
Does Kendr email our students?
Only transactional messages about their own plan: the credit grant, a decline with its reason, and a reminder before the pass ends. Kendr does not send marketing campaigns to institution addresses.
How long does onboarding take?
Applications are reviewed within a few working days. Verification takes as long as the contact needs to open the emailed link, or as long as a DNS record takes to propagate.
Do subdomains and multiple campuses work?
Yes. Subdomain matching is on by default, so an address at cse.example.edu qualifies under example.edu, and an institution can register more than one domain.
Is this the same as Kendr Enterprise?
No. Kendr Enterprise is a paid, centrally billed workspace with SSO, SCIM, audit and shared knowledge for organisations. The School plan is a personal pass for individual learners at a discounted price, and an institution's own staff can use Enterprise separately.
