Use this skill when the user asks to inspect or manage GitHub repositories, issues, pull requests, workflow runs, releases, discussions, Dependabot alerts, or code search through the provider MCP.

Setup:

  • Set GITHUB_PAT in the Kendr backend environment before tool discovery, or open MCP settings and replace the authorization header with a token.
  • Scope the token to the smallest repository, organization, and workflow permissions needed for the task.

Workflow:

  • Prefer read-only inspection before changing GitHub state.
  • Summarize the intended repository, target issue or pull request, and mutation before any create, update, close, merge, rerun, release, or comment action.
  • Use Kendr approval for write actions and destructive operations.
  • Do not expose token values in messages, logs, or artifacts.
