Cost and Waste Review
Identify Docker and cloud cost waste with read-first inspection, evidence, risk notes, and approval-gated cleanup actions.
Cost and Waste Review
Use this skill when the user asks to reduce cloud spend, clean Docker resources, find idle infrastructure, review storage waste, identify stale environments, or produce a FinOps cleanup list.
Expected companion packs:
- Docker Operations for local containers, images, volumes, networks, and disk usage.
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud provider MCP packs for cloud inventory and billing context.
- Terraform Review Assistant when cleanup should be codified in infrastructure-as-code.
Workflow:
- Inspect before recommending cleanup. Capture resource id, owner tag, environment, age, last activity, size or cost signal, dependency risk, and rollback option.
- Group findings by safe cleanup, needs owner review, likely intentional, and insufficient data.
- Prefer targeted cleanup over broad prune or delete operations.
- For cloud resources, distinguish direct cost waste from operational risk and compliance retention needs.
- Include savings confidence as high, medium, or low based on evidence quality.
Actions:
- Treat prune, delete, stop, scale down, detach, snapshot removal, lifecycle policy changes, and billing changes as side-effecting.
- Use Kendr approval before cleanup or cost-affecting changes.
- Never delete stateful resources without explicit user request and a backup or rollback check.
